In mid-September the House passed a bipartisan reauthorization of the Perkins Career and Technical Education (CTE) Act which is supported by both the Association for Career and Technical Education and Advance CTE: State Leaders Connecting Learning to Work. The bill focuses on better aligning CTE to ESSA and the needs of the labor market, and increasing state and local flexibility in implementing CTE programs. Attention now turns to the Senate with the hope that passage of the bill is achieved before the end of the session. Learn more about the legislation.
