Daniel Bicknell serves as a Special Advisor at the Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation, where he supports the Service Year Option program. The Service Year Option provides Maryland high school graduates and GED holders with a paid, full-time year of service in critical fields such as climate, education, and public health. The program offers participants structured career development and pathways to postsecondary success.
As part of the STEM Next Fellowship, Daniel previously served as a Senior Advisor at the American Climate Corps and an Energy Advisor at AmeriCorps. He brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of public policy, sustainability, and civic engagement, with prior roles with the U.S. Department of Energy, Peace Corps Response, and the Brookings Institution. His work has focused on advancing climate resilience, environmental partnerships, and inclusive stakeholder engagement across federal, state, and global platforms.
Daniel holds an MPP in International and Global Affairs from the Harvard Kennedy School and an A.B. in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard College.
