“The San Diego STEM Ecosystem is off and running! An incredible cross section of leaders from K-12, afterschool, the business community, higher education, area funders, and the non-profit sector came together in the first Design Studio. It is clear San Diego has a wealth of STEM programs and initiatives. The challenge will be to knit them together in a coordinated and integrated manner so that the majority of youth in the county become engaged in STEM learning. Congratulations to Steve Snyder, Kris Mooney and the Fleet Science Center for taking the lead as the ecosystem champion along with support from the San Diego County Office of Education afterschool unit.”
