Sabrina Gomez, STEM Education Advisor

Sabrina Gomez is a passionate entrepreneur with a background in the nonprofit and education sectors.

Sabrina is the Founder and Principal Consultant of STEMHigher, an education consulting firm with a strong commitment to advancing equity and improving educational and economic outcomes for Black and Latino youth through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Prior, she served as Senior Director at ExpandED Schools in New York City where she led local and national initiatives that empowered youth to achieve success in STEM fields and co-led the NYC STEM Learning Ecosystem. Sabrina launched her career in education advocacy as a teacher in Buenos Aires, Argentina and later in the South Bronx, New York.

Sabrina is often found serving in a myriad of leadership roles in the community. She was part of the inaugural class of LEAD STEM, a national leadership program for STEM Ecosystem members, and was an Education Fellow with the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. She currently serves on the Board of New Leaders Council Atlanta and is a member of Junior League of Atlanta Capacity Building Committee where she builds the capacity of partner organizations to improve outcomes for children and youth.

A native of San Jose, California, Sabrina is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. She credits her career trajectory to being a part of her undocumented father’s experience and exposure to her educator mother advocating for increased opportunities to help Latinos achieve greater gains in education. Sabrina holds a B.A. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles, a M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from City University in New York, Hunter College, and a M.A. in Education Development from New York University.
