The Center for the Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) has released a new report, Informal STEM Education: Resources and Expertise for Outreach, Engagement and Broader Impacts, which focuses on how growth in infrastructure for the Informal Science Education field over the past 10 years has created new resources, capacity and expertise that can be leveraged to engage public audiences with the products and processes of research. The report seeks to engage the STEM research community in exploring and leveraging informal STEM learning strategies or collaborations to create innovative programs, projects and activities that engage and educate a range of audiences with the broader impacts of their work. Additional audiences may include policymakers, funders and other stakeholders who wish to enhance the accountability of funded research, strengthen the national STEM education ecosystem and cultivate a scientifically literate society.
