Joshua Elder

Panelist, Building AI Literacy at Scale: What Comes Next
Senior Vice President and Head of Grantmaking at Siegel Family Endowment

Joshua Elder is Senior Vice President and Head of Grantmaking at Siegel Family Endowment, where he leads the foundation’s strategic investment portfolio across learning, workforce, and infrastructure. In this role, he oversees the development and execution of inquiry-driven grantmaking strategies, cultivates cross-sector partnerships, and advances philanthropic approaches that examine how technology shapes education systems, labor markets, and civic infrastructure.

Prior to joining Siegel Family Endowment, Joshua served as Director of Strategic Initiatives at CSforALL, a national organization dedicated to expanding equitable access to computer science education. There, he led high-impact strategic initiatives that strengthened district and state capacity, advanced cross-sector collaboration, and supported systemic adoption of high-quality computer science pathways.

Joshua brings more than a decade of experience in domestic and international education focused on instructional leadership, systems design, and educator development. He began his career as a science teacher in Virginia and later co-founded a network of low-cost private schools serving communities in South Africa and Kenya. He also launched a global teacher institute in Cape Town aimed at building instructional excellence and leadership capacity across diverse learning environments.

As part of the AI panel at Inspire Momentum, Joshua will bring a philanthropy perspective on how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping education systems and workforce pathways—and what it takes for funders and field-builders to align investments with the skills and experiences all youth need to succeed.
