As we pursue our mission and vision, we strive to expand both the availability of and youth participation in out-of-school STEM opportunities, while continually elevating the quality of these programs nationwide.

Core Activities

  • Provide resources & supports to improve program quality and develop educators
  • Amplify voices of young people & educators to shift narratives about STEM
  • Partner with high-performing organizations to boost collaboration
  • Collect data for continuous learning & improvement in practices and curriculum
  • Provide expert guidance to government agencies in supporting STEM learning outside of school

Our Path to Success

Building on a Legacy of Impact STEM Next continues the legacy of the Noyce Foundation, which invested $75 million over 25 years to pioneer new ways of expanding out-of-school STEM learning. Today, STEM Next is the primary national leader dedicated to this work of advancing high-quality STEM learning through out-of-school programs.

STEM Next has brought together hundreds of partners across sectors and all 50 states to rapidly improve and expand out-of-school STEM opportunities. By uniting educators, policymakers, nonprofits, and industry partners around proven approaches and broad goals, we’re creating a comprehensive ecosystem of support—ensuring every child can develop the skills, confidence, and pathways to thrive in STEM.
