Katy joined STEM Next Opportunity Fund in 2024 as Grants Manager to help oversee the Exploring Career Connections in STEM (EC2) grant. This project, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor Youth Workforce Pathways program, integrates afterschool programs into workforce development systems to address the rapidly growing demand for skilled workers in STEM fields.
Katy brings more than 10 years of experience managing grants in the nonprofit and higher education sectors, including six years managing workforce development and Career & Technical (CTE) education federal grant programs for the Montana Two-Year college system. The eCourse she developed for training Workforce Navigators as part of the Department Of Labor’s TAACCCT grants has been featured in DOL WorkforceGPS and in the SkillsCommons Field Guide for Workforce Innovations. Prior to that, she served as a Chief Financial Officer for a small nonprofit and held several positions in state and local government. Katy holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Montana with a focus on nonprofit administration and finance.
