Abigail Darlington is a communications strategist, storyteller and former award-winning journalist with in-depth experience inspiring audiences to take notice and take action. As Director of Communications, Abigail oversees the development and execution of the comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for STEM Next Opportunity Fund.
To this role, she brings a wealth of expertise in integrated communications and marketing strategy, media and public relations, branding and reputation management, digital content strategy, organizational messaging, advocacy, thought leadership and more.
Prior to joining STEM Next, Abigail served as a director with a strategic communications firm serving clients primarily in the public and nonprofit sectors, including in the afterschool space. She also previously led strategic communications and marketing for Coastal Community Foundation, the largest foundation in South Carolina with a combined service area of nine coastal counties.
Abigail spent the first half of her career as a reporter for The Post and Courier, South Carolina’s largest newspaper, where she covered government, climate change, affordable housing and development.
She was named a 2024 Women of Influence by Charleston Regional Business Journal. Abigail serves on the Board of Directors of One80 Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness.
Abigail graduated from The College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
