“When my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I felt his strength falter for the first time. Through Google searches on his tumor, I became fascinated by oncology and craved hands-on experience. That summer, I received the opportunity to volunteer at Dr. Zeng-jie Yang’s lab at Fox Chase Cancer Center. I saw many overlaps between skills I learned in the lab and lessons taught in my Biology and Chemistry classes. The lab motivated me to dive deeper into a field where I could make a huge impact.”
