“STEM has been a vital part of my education: from ballet to singing to tennis to winning the Boston STEM Fair 3 years in a row!  My recent project on misophonia (a condition in which sounds cause an atypical emotional response) was inspired by my family’s issues with noise pollution.  This formal research project allowed me to help my family discover and develop potential treatments for this disorder. I learned that applying my STEM background can have a lasting impact in my home and beyond.”
